Tongue - ladle

€92

These ceramic pieces are a set of eating tools — relics straddle the line between function and ritual.
Created for the “Forms of Eating” exhibition and performance during the Lisbon Design Week, they evoke the
aura of ancient, myth-bound artifacts unearthed from a forgotten civilization where meals were ceremonial
acts.

Each form suggests a symbolic utensil: a ladle resembling a curled tongue, a twisted spiral like a snake or helix
of DNA, a black flower and a large, flowing plate that appears to melt. Together, they compose a surreal table
setting for a deity or a mythic character.
The large ceramic piece from the set embodies a "ceremonial offering cloth". In the context of "Forms of
Eating”, this piece is interpreted as the "altar-object": the base upon which sacred foods are placed, not just
for nourishment, but for transformation.

These are not mere ceramics, but attributes for a mythic gastronomy, artifacts for a dining experience, tools
for offering or consuming energies rather than matter. In their enigmatic forms lies a story untold: perhaps a
forgotten myth where the act of eating dissolved the boundaries between worlds.
