Teresinha, don’t touch my plate

€80

This small series of ceramic pieces was created using moulds of the artist’s
grandmother’s and mother’s hands, forming an immediate bridge between
nourishment and family.
The journey of food to the mouth here passes through a dense emotional
landscape and an anti-ergonomic gesture, embodied in Hands of, please — the
very hands that fed and raised the artist.
Transformed into the base and support of the bowls, these hands explore the
ambiguity between a caring gesture and a sense of intrusion — a touch that
nourishes but also unsettles the meal.
This discomfort is heightened during use, as clean edges are absent and fngers
protrude from the forms.
Don’t Touch My Plate and Hands of, please ofer an afective and sensorial
reimagining of the act of eating.
