Plastic Artist

Having chosen acrylic painting and ceramics as her main forms of expression, Yara Fukimoto discovered the plastic arts and saw it as a way to exercise the expression of her eyes, thoughts, and gestures.

Her work is marked by an attempt to understand who she is through an immersion in her half Japanese, half north-eastern roots, and the deep contemplation of the world and nature. Her inspiration comes mainly from those mysteries that are not explained: her pieces sometimes materialize the force of a volcano, sometimes represent a certain oneiric subtlety, sometimes in the creation of beings whose existence we question.

The purpose of her artistic work is to open fields that cannot always be filled with senses or meanings, but that touch, in a direct way, the unspeakable that inhabits us.
